In the Spirit of Cooking…

Technically speaking, this is a mashup between Lazy Town, a Weird Icelandic Thing of a show that’s aimed at encouraging kids to eat healthy and be active (and, possibly, take lots of acid when they’re older), and a Lil John video. I’m not really that familiar with either one except for the basic premises (“being healthy is good and being lazy is evil!” and “BITCHES AND HOS YO MUHFUCKA” respectively), all I know is this is strangely hypnotic and hilarious.

Not really work-safe. That actress is 18, by the way, if it makes it less disturbing. The character’s supposed to be eight, though…

Definitely one of the strangest and most disturbing things I’ve seen in my short life. On the other hand, maybe it will over-write my memories of “Un Chien Anadalou” - at least it’s in color.

    “Lazy Town” RAWKS!
    No need to inhale. It’s a pre-digested Thai-stick.
I soooo have to go to Iceland.

I had seen Lazy Town before, and been slightly disturbed by the modeling clay hair on all human characters there. Sort of Pee Wee’s Playhouse meets Gumby meets “a very special episode” of any silly TV show from our youth. Might want to throw in some Power Rangers, too.

The girl vaguely reminds me of a more upbeat version of the Natalie Portman character in The Professional.

  4. Turk Turon Says:

Yeah, she does remind me of Natalie Portman, now that you mention it. Sort of a cross between The Professional, when she was a child, and Closer, when she was an adult and she wore a pink pageboy wig.

    Still… [shudders]

Pee Wee’s Playhouse on Ecstasy Day. Fun, cute and disturbing.

She turned 18, like, two days ago, according to Wikipedia. She was only fourteen or fifteen when she filmed this. Still absolutely hilarious.

Oh my goodness… that is such an earworm.

I made the mistake of not reading your intro text, just seeing the cute kitchen scene and thinking “ooh, fun kid song,” clicked play, closed the window, and went back to work.

    “oh this is fun!

wait…did he just say what I thought he said?

    he…said…

oh… oh dear. this is going… horribly wrong.

    Thank gosh for earbuds. :)

This was the last song played in a dance club last week. It was preceded by “Dancing Queen.”

If you haven’t seen it, I think you might enjoy this, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aGTNS13SDU

    What…the…hell.

Incidentally, I think pageboy dos are usually pretty damn hot. Maybe more so with black hair than pink playdoh, though…
