In my house, the pitbull sleeps in the Italian Greyhound’s bed, and vice versa. I need to get a photo. It’s amusing.

JKIR- Yep, Kang’s an Akita, as is our other dog.

My father-in-law had a beautiful akita that we all loved. Sadly, it didn’t live too long. My daughter now has a couple Shiba Inus that kind of look like the akita’s only smaller.

When they’re good, they’re wonderful dogs. Fortunately, the breed’s health overall has improved in recent years.
Shibas are adorable and are definitely close relatives of the Akita, but the temperaments are a bit… different… when the diehard enthusiasts of a breed refer to them as “devil dogs”, I tend to think twice.
